Who We Are

Sloss Fine Woodworking is a father (Dan) and son (Drew) venture with over 55 years combined experience.

Hailing from Elizabethtown, Ky., Drew has lived in Nashville for most of the last 14 years. Growing up in his father’s shop, Drew has been around woodworking his entire life and has been creating custom works since 1998 or 1983 if you include this sculpture.

After receiving a Bachelor’s of Engineering degree from Vanderbilt University, he moved to DC and Boston with his engineering career, that eventually brought him back to Nashville in 2003. Upon his return, he opened Climb Nashville.

Dan studied Industrial Arts at Western Kentucky University in the 60s. After graduating, he started Sundown Leather in Louisville, Ky., taught wood shop classes and was an original guild member at the Berea Arts Festival.

Both he and Drew demonstrated leather tanning techniques at Pleasant Hill Shaker Village near Lexington, Ky.
